Eastfield Pharmacy Meet your Community Pharmacy Team

Steve, Hayley and Teressa consider it a privilege to look after you and your family’s health care needs and look forward to being of service to you.

Steve Wise Pharmacist

Steve Wise

Steve has had a long association with the Ashburton community having attended St Joseph’s Primary School and Ashburton College before attending University in Dunedin.

After becoming a registered Pharmacist Steve worked in Blenheim for around 5 years before an opportunity arose in 1987 to return to the district and purchase a Pharmacy in Ashburton.

In January 2018 Steve sold the original Pharmacy enjoyed a well-deserved break for two and a half years. During this time, Steve spent the better part of 2019 in Nelson at the Nelson School of Fine Woodworking designing and building furniture.

He also joined the team at a very busy Nelson Pharmacy, which kept his Pharmacy activity current.

Steve is delighted that another opportunity has presented itself and along with Hayley and Theressa are pleased to be able once again to provide Pharmacy services for the Ashburton Community.

Outside of the dispensary, Steve still enjoys running and cycling. At home, he enjoys woodworking and gardening.

Along with his wife Ann, they enjoy visiting and keeping up with their 3 adult sons.

Hayley Pharmacist

Hayley Marshall

Ashburton local and Ashburton College graduate Hayley developed an interest in becoming a pharmacist from her college Chemistry teacher, Mr Keith Gunn.

Hayley knew when she left school that she wanted to help people and work in the health sector. After a few days of job shadowing at Wises Pharmacy under Steve Wise in Year 13, Hayley went off to do a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Otago University in Dunedin, returning as a qualified pharmacist in 2011.

Hayley thrives on the processes of structure and clarity that being a Pharmacist brings.

She loves that one of the biggest points of difference is that their team are solely focused on patient health and are people-orientated rather than a product orientated pharmacy.

Hayley took some time off when she became a Mum in 2017 and when Steve opened Eastfield Pharmacy in September 2021, she didn’t hesitate to join the small, close-knit team and serve her community once again.

Hayley finds being a Pharmacist very rewarding and enjoys being able to help and support people while making a difference in their day.

Between work and family commitments Hayley enjoys making and decorating cakes for her family and friends.
